About OpenBahi
OpenBahi (ओपनबही) turns the accounting books a trader already keeps in SoftTrade or TallyPrime into a clear dashboard on the owner's phone. It also sends invoice PDFs and payment reminders to customers on WhatsApp. "Bahi" is the Hindi word for the traditional account book.
Who it is for
Wholesale and trading businesses in India that sell on credit, often through dalals (brokers), where the accountant (munim) keeps the books on the office PC and the owner wants to see them anywhere.
What it does
- Shows party-wise outstanding, ledgers, statements, invoices, the day book, sales, suppliers and dalals on any phone.
- Works out, from each party's own history, how fast it pays and a credit status with the reason, a dalal status, and how much open bills should bring in over the coming weeks, using statistical and logic models.
- Sends new invoice PDFs and owner-controlled payment reminders (with the party's open-bill statement) on WhatsApp.
- Answers questions about a firm's own figures through an AI assistant, in trial with some businesses.
What it is not
- Not accounting software. Bills and entries are still made in SoftTrade or Tally.
- It never writes to the books. The SoftTrade connection reads a copy of the files; the Tally connection reads through Tally's XML port.
- Not made by or affiliated with Tally Solutions or the makers of SoftTrade.
How it connects
A small Windows app on the PC with the books syncs every hour from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. The dashboard runs at app.openbahi.com in any browser and can be added to a phone's home screen.
